1. Swat Valley Dowry Pillow. Mid 20th century, silk on cotton. A pillow case made in the distinctive Phulkari style of the Swat Valley in Pakistan. Elaborate geometric designs, different on the front and back of the case, in dominant red and black with all variations of red from shocking pink to maroon as well as some green and blue. Made by a bride for her new home to prove her skill and industriousness. It measures 16" by 32" and the price is $150.
