6. 18th C. Prajnaparamita Sutra Commentary. Tibet, 18th Century. Vasubandhu's commentary on the Prajnaparamita in 20,000 written in gold and silver bound with glue on thick black mulberry pages. The text details the compounded and transient nature, therefore the unreality, of all phenomena. Some of the silver writing is faded but still legible; two or three of the pages have torn corners. Between wooden covers, plain except for carvings of meditating Buddhas on the ends. The carvings retain traces of gilt. 308 pages. Length: 27", width: 9", thickness is 6". $800.
